BED MATTRESSES AND COVERS FOR CENTRELLA® BEDS

Our mattresses and covers are a perfect fit for your Centrella beds. The standard model (similar to the Hillrom Centrella core Surface mattress)has two foam layers, while the Reactive Air mattress (similar to the Hillrom Centrella pro Surface mattress) adds extra comfort and protection against skin breakdown. Both feature a top layer of gel-infused memory foam, and the Reactive Air version includes interconnected air cells that respond to patient movement — no electricity or loud motors needed.

EXTERNAL FEATURES

PERFECT FIT

All our mattresses are accurately made to be a perfect fit on your beds.

RF WELDED SEAMS

Rather than a sewn seam, our seams are sealed using radio frequency welding to prevent fluid ingress. (Only available on polycarbonate material.)

TWO-PIECE DETACHABLE COVER

Complete separation of top and bottom covers makes iteasy to replace a worn top cover while keeping the bottom cover intact.

WATERFALL ZIPPER FLAP

The waterfall zipper flap covers the zipper, so fluids pass over it without absorbing into the mattress.

POLYCARBONATE FABRIC

Our mattresses feature a durable polyester coated knit with a polycarbonate additive. This material provides greater resistance to aggressive cleaners, including bleach and hydrogen peroxide.

MULTI-DIRECTIONAL STRETCH

Our breathable four-way stretch fabric provides added comfort and durability. It also reduces friction for easier patient repositioning.

SLOPED HEEL SECTION

Allows vulnerable heels to “float,” transferring pressure to the patient’s calves and reducing the risk of skin breakdown.

EXPANDABLE HEEL SECTION

Allows the mattress to expand or contract as the bed deck changes modes (e.g. from bed to chair).

Internal Features

AIR CELLS (Reactive Air Only)

Our Reactive Air mattresses contain a series of interconnected air cells that deliver dynamic response to patient movement without electricity or loud motors.

GEL-INFUSED MEMORY FOAM

Gel-infused memory foam reduces pressure to body regions that are susceptible to pressure injuries. Gel particles embedded in the foam help to draw heat away from the body while offering greater structural integrity to the foam.

CLEANING TIPS

Mattress disinfection is an important part of any hospital’s infection control program. But the harsh chemicals that are used can damage the mattress over time. Follow these tips to get the most out of your stretcher mattresses.

FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS

Make sure you follow the instructions not just for whichever cleaning agent you’re using, but for the mattress itself. Not all mattresses are compatible with all common disinfectants, and using the wrong one can damage the mattress over time.

DILUTE IF NECESSARY

Some disinfectants are intended to be diluted before use. Using them at full strength can shorten the life of the mattress.

WAIT OUT THE "DWELL TIME"

The instructions for the disinfectant may mention the “dwell time”. This is the amount of time that a surface must remain wet to allow the chemical to be in contact with an organism in order to kill it. Make sure you let the disinfectant do its job before wiping it off.

RINSING IS A MUST

After the dwell time has been achieved, immediately rinse the surface with clean warm water.
